What We Do

The Friends of Muni raises money for various projects and course repair

We have financed the construction of the stone bridges, the rain shelter, the renovation of the cart paths on hole numbers #1, #2, #4, #9, #13 and #15, re-engineered the drainage on the greens and approaches of hole numbers #3, #4 and #5 and painting and refurnishing the clubhouse women’s restroom – just to mention a few. Future endeavors include the completion of the cart path project and the construction of a practice area including 8 driving mats. Please consider supporting our local “Donald Ross Gem” with your donations of membership.

The Friends of Muni is a 501 (c)(3) organization responsible for maintaining the Wilmington Municipal Golf Course. Most of the residents of New Hanover County and surrounding areas know that The Muni is owned and operated by the City of Wilmington which leads them to think that the City of Wilmington also maintains the golf course; however, the City does not. The Friends of Muni organization was born out of this need. Our funds are acquired through direct donations, annual memberships, an annual summer golf tournament, an annual winter Glow golf tournament and an annual raffle. The monies from these events are then diverted to underwrite projects at The Muni.
